KULONPROGO (14 February 2022) – The Ministry of Social Affairs through Social
Rehabilitation Center “Antasena” Magelang responded quickly to residents in
Kulonprogo who were victims of river overflow. The overflowing river that
occurred in Jatisarono Village, Kapanewon Nanggulan, Kulonprogo Regency,
Yogyakarta Special Region, affected two hamlets, namely Hamlet Jatingarang Lor
which was affected by 20 families and Hamlet Jatingarang Kidul as many as 14
families who became victims.
The Antasena Center’s Outreaching Team immediately
collected data on residents who were victims and carried out a quick assessment
to find out the urgent needs of the residents. The team then coordinated with
the Directorate General of Social Protection for Natural Disaster Victims
(PSKBA) of the Ministry of Social Affairs for the delivery of aid and the types
of aid distributed to residents affected by the overflowing river.
The types of assistance that were directly
distributed to residents were 150 packages of ready-to-eat food, 180 packages
of children's food, 20 packages of family kits, and 25 packages of red
mattresses.
"Hopefully this assistance can meet the urgent
needs of residents affected by the flood disaster and can ease their burden
while rearranging the condition of their homes," said Arif Nurhidayat,
Head of the Administrative Subdivision of Antasena Center who represented the
Head of Center when handing over the aid.
"We plan to also distribute Social
Rehabilitation Assistance or ATENSI service to residents affected by river
overflows so that the more specific needs of residents can be met," he
added.
Jatisarono Village Head, Arif Budi Santoso
expressed his deepest gratitude for the assistance provided, "I represent
the residents here thanking the government for the attention and assistance
given to our residents, this assistance can lighten our burden," said
Arif.
