Ministry of Social Affairs Visits and Provides Assistance to Heroes' Families

Bekasi (November 9, 2024) - Ministry of Social Affairs, through Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP), conducted another visit to heroes' families in Bekasi and Depok areas on Saturday (11/9).

The visit, in the context of the 2024 National Heroes' Day Commemoration, is a form of appreciation for the heroes who have fought for the nation and state.

Attended by the Advisor to the DWP of MoSA, Fatma Saifullah Yusuf, this visit was to the residence of the daughter of national hero Prof. Dr. Raden Soelaiman Koesoemah Atmadja, Siti Saubati KA (75) in Bekasi. During the visit, Fatma handed over assistance in the form of 3-legged crutches, hearing aids, clothing, prayer equipment, nutritional packages, and compassionate money.

"This visit is the third visit this year," said Fatma.

Fatma explained that the purpose of the visit was a form of appreciation for the heroes and to be a joy for MoSA to have the opportunity to meet the daughter of an Indonesian national hero.

"We cannot follow their heroism in terms of taking up arms, but we can provide assistance to their families as a form of gratitude to the heroes," she explained.

Prof. Dr. Raden Soelaiman Koesoemah Atmadja played a role in the struggle by becoming the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and a member of the Investigative Committee for the Preparation of Indonesian Independence.

Raden Soelaiman is a law enforcement judge who has firmness, and integrity, and upholds honesty for the sake of justice. His figure should be an example, especially for all law enforcement agencies.

"I am very happy, I am proud, Madam Minister is willing to come to my small house," said Siti with emotion.

At her age, Siti has started having problems with physical activities. She requires regular check-ups with the doctor and has to be assisted by her child to walk.

 "When I go to the doctor, I often see this (while holding a tripod) and ask myself when I can have a stick like that. Thank God I have one now, thank you," she said.

Based on Government Regulation No. 78 of 2018 on the Requirements and Procedures and Amount of Continuous Allowances for Fighters, Independence Pioneers, and National Hero Families, MoSA distributed continuous allowances in 2024 to the accounts of National Hero families on January 31, 2024, based on Decree Number 02/SK/5.3/PB.06.01/01/2024 dated January 19, 2024, with an amount of IDR 50,000,000 per year for each family.

The recipients are spread across several regions, including DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java, and other regions in Indonesia with a total of 88 families.

In addition to the honorary allowance, MoSA has also responded to the need for assistive devices proposed by the Indonesian National Hero Family Association (IKPNI).  There are 53 proposals for assistive devices for the heroes’ families and 19 proposals for assistive devices for the Wives of the Signers.
