MoSA Gives Attention to Adolescents with Multiple STT in North Halmahera

TERNATE (May 25, 2022) — The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Wasana Bahagia Center in Ternate carried out a case response to Kardawi Ngongano (17) a resident of Limau Village, North Galela District, North Halmahera Regency who suffered from Multiple Soft Tissue Tumors. Based on the results of the Sentra nurse's assessment, Hermawanty had lumps with watery and festering wounds on Kardawi's left wrist, right elbow, and right leg. This causes him to only be able to move in bed.

 

In collaboration with village midwives and local stakeholders, the Wasana Bahagia Center in Ternate referred Kardawi to the Tobelo Regional General Hospital for medical services. The officer also coordinated with the Social Service of North Halmahera Regency for the reactivation of BPJS Kardawi's inactive participation and opening of a bank account.

 

NASA provided assistance to Kardawi for IDR 17 million, consisting of assistance from MoSA of IDR 10 million through account transfer and Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) worth IDR 7 million in the form of mattresses, cupboards, mats, basic materials, pampers, toiletries and dress. The assistance was received by Nurdin Ngonano (81), and to the Sentra officers, he expressed his deepest gratitude to MoSA. "Thank goodness ", said Nurdin.

 

Kardawi's condition previously went viral on local social media, it was reported that he had been in and out of the hospital for the past two years due to his illness. He lived on the Galela coast with his grandmother and grandfather after his mother died in 2014 from complications.
