KARAWANG (July 22, 2021) - The Ministry of
Social Affairs through the Bekasi "Budhi Dharma" Center provides
Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) program for the elderly on behalf of Grandmother
Aton Usih (79 years old) which was viral on the online portal media Kompas.com
( 19/07/2021).
Viral news entitled "Selling Bran to
Survive, This Grandmother Expects Social Assistance from the Government",
Grandma Aton is reported to have received BST worth Rp 600 thousand from the
government. This assistance was used to buy rice and trading capital for bran
and groats. In addition, it is also used to buy clothes and food.
Based on the news, on Tuesday (20/07/2021),
the Bekasi “Budhi Dharma” Center conducted an assessment of Aton Usih's house
which is located at Wanasepi Hamlet Rt. 004/ 010 Tunggakjati District, West
Karawang Regency, West Java Province.
"Please distribute aid to Grandma Aton
and do not delay it, so that it can be used immediately," said the Head of
Balai Pujiyanto to the team.
ATENSI assistance is spent together and handed
over directly to Mak Aton Usih in the form of a nutrition package, personal
care and hygiene packages, health needs, room facilities, and additional
strengthening of business capital.
Aton Usih's grandmother who lived alone in a
100-meter cubicle house with no children and husband had died decades ago,
leaving her feeling lonely and living as she could.
To survive, Aton Usih's grandmother did not want to hang on to mercy by begging from others, but even with her aging body, she persisted in selling bran and groats to feed the ducks and chickens that she sold by carrying on her head. The effort did not make him weak of heart and instead increased his gratitude to God.
