CIANJUR (5 June 2021) – The Ministry of Social Affairs through Phala Martha Sukabumi Center provides logistical assistance and psychosocial support services for residents affected by floods and landslides in Cibokor, Cianjur, West Java. This is a follow-up to the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, that each Social Rehabilitation Center must immediately respond to information about various social problems that occur around the Center.

When receiving information on the occurrence of a landslide in Babakan Cingkeuk Village, Cibokor Village, Cibeber District, Cianjur Regency which occurred on Friday night (4/6/2021) before dawn, the Head of the Phala Martha Center, Cup Santo on Saturday morning (5/6/2021) assigns an Emergency Response Team, consisting of Social Workers and Social Counselors to go to the evacuation site for the landslide disaster.

The Phala Martha Center team handed over logistical assistance to the refugee post and was received by Ari Prabowo, who represented the Cianjur District Social Service and Oman Sapar as the person in charge of the post.

"We represent the Head of Phala Martha Center, conveying our condolences for the floods and landslides that hit the residents of Cibokor," said Andi, the Social Counselor.

"On this occasion we provide assistance in the form of rice, instant noodles, toiletries, milk, baby food, clothing, personal hygiene equipment and medicines for affected residents," he added.

Head of Section for Disaster Victim Aid and Violence Protection at the Cianjur Regency Social Service, Ari Prabowo, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Social Affairs through Phala Martha Center who had been present to visit Cibokor residents affected by the landslide.

The Secretary of Cibokor Village, Yusuf also thanked the team who had come to the location. "We will convey the assistance that has been given to residents who are victims of floods and landslides. Currently 38 families (KK) consisting of 121 people are in Refugee Post 1 located at Pesantren As Salam, while 54 families consisting of 192 people are in Posko 2, located at MI Persis 56 Cibitung Muara.

The Phala Martha Emergency Response Team also carried out Psychosocial Support Services (LDP) by inviting families affected by landslides to have small talks and listen to stories they experienced and provide psychological reinforcement to families affected by landslides.

The team talked with several residents, one of them Ending (75 years old) who was hit by a mudslide that closed his entire house. He managed to save himself when the landslide hit his house even though the mud had also covered half of his body.

Likewise with Iwan (38 years old) who that night was already feeling restless so he couldn't sleep until the landslide occurred around Saturday morning.

This also caused no casualties in the landslide disaster because residents were alert when it rained in the area, only 4 houses were heavily damaged and 8 houses were slightly damaged.

Heavy rain was confirmed on Friday night (4/6/2021) starting at 22.00 WIB until 02.00 WIB which caused flooding and landslides.
