BALANGAN (14 July 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through Budi Luhur Social Rehabilitation Center of Banjarbaru implements Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) in the form of a stocks-free Emergency Response to People with Mental Disorders (ODGJ) in Balangan Regency, South Kalimantan.

The Emergency Response Team consisting of 4 people consisting of Social Workers and Nurses immediately moved quickly after receiving reports from the community and coordinated with the Balangan District Social Service, Satpol PP (Civil Service Police Unit), and the Balangan Friends Community (SBC).

Nursoleh, Social Worker of Budi Luhur Center who conducted an assessment of MU (36 years) a woman from Padang Raya Village, Halong District, explained that MU had been in stocks for 1 year with both legs tied to a wooden beam. Her family had to do this because MU often had relapsed and disturbed people. "Previously MU had been treated in a Mental Hospital, but in the last year the family did not take her to the hospital again if she had a relapse," explained Nursoleh.

Then using an ambulance belonging to Budi Luhur Center, MU was taken to the Sambang Lihum Mental Hospital in Banjarmasin City for medical treatment and a psychiatric examination.

The wife of the Regent of Balangan Sri Huriyati, who is also the Chairwoman of the PKK of Balangan Regency, attended this event. Sri warmly welcomes the stocks-free emergency response activities carried out by Budi Luhur Center. "Thank you, Budi Luhur, hopefully, there will be no more cases of stocks in Balangan Regency," said Sri.
