MoSA Releases Person with Mental Disorder as the Victim of Stocks in Balangan
BALANGAN
(14 July 2021) - The Ministry of
Social Affairs through Budi Luhur Social Rehabilitation Center of Banjarbaru
implements Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) in the form of a stocks-free
Emergency Response to People with Mental Disorders (ODGJ) in Balangan Regency,
South Kalimantan.
The Emergency Response Team consisting of 4
people consisting of Social Workers and Nurses immediately moved quickly after
receiving reports from the community and coordinated with the Balangan District
Social Service, Satpol PP (Civil Service Police Unit), and the Balangan Friends
Community (SBC).
Nursoleh, Social Worker of Budi Luhur Center who
conducted an assessment of MU (36 years) a woman from Padang Raya Village,
Halong District, explained that MU had been in stocks for 1 year with both legs
tied to a wooden beam. Her family had to do this because MU often had relapsed
and disturbed people. "Previously MU had been treated in a Mental
Hospital, but in the last year the family did not take her to the hospital
again if she had a relapse," explained Nursoleh.
Then using an ambulance belonging to Budi
Luhur Center, MU was taken to the Sambang Lihum Mental Hospital in Banjarmasin
City for medical treatment and a psychiatric examination.
