SUKABUMI (25
November 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through Social
Rehabilitation Center “Phala Martha” Sukabumi and the Quick Response Team
visited the house of Mrs. Atikah who is the caregiver and grandmother of three
orphaned children who had gone viral due to her worrying economic condition.
The father
of the three children migrated as a construction worker in Jakarta, while the
mother had died.
Mrs. Atikah
and her three grandchildren live in a simple house with walls and plywood walls
located in Cisarua Village, Nagrak District, Sukabumi Regency.
Mrs. Atikah
takes care of her three grandchildren, whose initials are: YN is 7 years old
who is currently attending 1st grade of elementary school, NR is 3 years old
and FF is 2 years old.
The
necessities of life such as food and other daily needs are met from his
father's gift of less than 500 thousand per month. This amount of money is
clearly not enough to meet the needs of the family, so neighbors often provide
assistance as well.
The father
of the three children works as a construction worker in Jakarta with a
relatively small income, so his father rarely comes home. Only occasionally
leave money for family in Sukabumi.
Cep Yoga
Firmansyah as Social Worker said that Phala Martha Sukabumi together with the
Ministry of Social Affairs’ Quick Response Team responded today to conduct an
assessment of ATENSI services that will be provided. "We visited 3
children to ensure their condition, and also provided assistance for their
daily needs", he added.
Furthermore,
from the results of the assessment that we got today, Phala Martha Center will
coordinate and synergize with several related parties to find the best
solution. One option is to provide business activities for family empowerment.
Phala Martha
Center is committed to providing social services for the fulfillment of
children's rights and the realization of a prosperous society, he concluded.
Mrs. Atikah
expressed her gratitude for the response given by the government. "Thank
you for the visit and the assistance provided, this means a lot to me, especially
the children," said Atikah's mother.
