Not Be Hindered by Limitations, “Melati” Center Can Create the Excellent Human Resources

JAKARTA (June 23rd 2020) - Center for Social Rehabilitation of Persons with Hearing Sensory Disabilities (BRSPDSRW) "Melati" Jakarta received a special visit today from the Director General of Social Rehabilitation and the Director of Social Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities, the Ministry of Social Affairs. BRSPDSRW "Melati" Jakarta is a Technical Service Unit of the Ministry of Social Affairs which organizes advanced social rehabilitation services for persons with Hearing sensory disabilities.

Starting his visit, Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat saw the activities of the beneficiaries in each skill room. In the sewing skills room, Harry asked the beneficiary what knowledge he had gained during in the center. He also encouraged "Melati" Center to massively produce transparent masks specifically for hearing and speech disabilities to make it easier for them to communicate even when wearing masks. Some of the beneficiary's clothing works also received appreciation from the Director General of Social Rehabilitation and the Director of Social Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Harry even bought a wooden chair, a large robot-shaped lamp and a birdcage made of wood made by the beneficiaries. The visit was continued to the gallery of the Production Installation Center. Harry seemed enthusiastic about seeing the items on display in the gallery and said, “Melati” Center can produce excellent human resources even though they have limitations in their disability".

"There are many changes and progress in “Melati” Center. Fourteen years ago, the last time I visited "Melati" Center and I think "Melati" Center has provided many of the best benefits for persons with hearing sensory disabilities," said Harry in his remarks in front of all employees and beneficiaries. He hopes that "Melati" Center will continue to consistently develop program innovations and ensure that social assistance programs for people with disabilities, especially sensory hearing impairments, are carried out optimally. He advised the beneficiaries at "Melati" Center to follow all stages of social rehabilitation to complete. "Keep the spirit to create a beautiful future in your life," he concluded.

The Ministry of Social Affairs as a supporting system will ensure that all government policies related to the handling of social problems are carried out as well as possible by all the Technical Implementation Units of the Ministry of Social Affairs as the operational implementer of social assistance for the government of social welfare services.
