"Paramita Center Gives Custody of Children to Foster Parents

(24 May 2021) - The Ministry of
Social Affairs, through the "Paramita" Children's Center, delivers
neglected babies to prospective adoptive parents.
Two babies were handed over and were abandoned
babies, where a baby boy was found in Utan Subdistrict, Sumbawa Regency in
October 2020, while a baby girl was found in Masbagik, East Lombok in December
2020. Both were abandoned babies who were found without their parents knowing.
The babies each received temporary care in the
Center for five and seven months. To fulfill children's rights to live
and grow and develop.
Furthermore, over time there are 2 (two)
married couples who intend to adopt children with the terms and conditions that
have been regulated following the Minister of Social Affairs
Regulation number 54 of 2007 on Adoption of Children.
Based on the suitability of identity
and the required requirements, the two pairs of prospective foster parents (COTA)
have the opportunity to undertake temporary care for 6 (six) months starting
today.
I Ketut Supena as the Head of the Center said,
"Our Center has implemented the ATENSI program for fathers and foster
mothers, then we ask everyone, especially extended families, to take care of
and protect children and fulfill their rights as children", he said.
ATENSI services that have been provided by the
"Paramita" Children's Center in Mataram is in the form of fulfilling
basic life needs such as milk, porridge, diapers. In addition, all babies are
also given health care such as immunizations and routine health checks.
This activity was also attended by the Head of
the East Lombok Regency Social Service and his staff. This is done as an effort
to synergize between the Regional Government and the UPT of the Ministry of
Social Affairs to services and protection for children, especially
infants and toddlers.
