SUKABUMI (15 May 2020) - The
Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Mental Disabilities (BRSPDM)
"Phala Martha" in Sukabumi received a deposit from abandoned
residents from Balai Watunas "Mulya Jaya" Jakarta. Four people
affected by COVID-19 who are suspected of having mental disorders are
temporarily accommodated at the Phala Martha Hall to get social rehabilitation.
Henceforth, efforts will be made to trace the whereabouts of his family.
This step proves that the
Ministry of Social Affairs is present in facing social problems, especially
those affected by COVID-19 by implementing Presidential Decree No. 11 of 2020
concerning the determination of the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Public
Health Emergency, the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Directorate
General of Social Rehabilitation issued Circular Letter Number 18/4 / KS.01 /
4/2020 concerning Temporary Shelter for Displaced Residents.
These four people; RN (39 years),
DY, Er (29 years), and E (43 years), all of the sexes are women, were the
result of the raids on vagabonds and beggars that were referred from the East
Jakarta Social Service in April 2020. After receiving the assessment, the
results negative COVID-19 rapid test, and basic rehabilitation at Balai Watunas
"Mulya Jaya", Mental Center "Phala Martha" accommodating
and providing temporary shelter for them. While trying to trace information on
the whereabouts of the family or guardian in charge, the “Phala Martha” Center
is obliged to meet their basic needs, provide assistance and further social
rehabilitation interventions to them for a maximum of three months.
They are placed separately in the
Cempaka Princess Dormitory and will undergo a 14-day quarantine, according to
the COVID-19 health protocol, and receive both physical and mental medical
care. Furthermore, social rehabilitation services will be provided including
physical, psychosocial, mental spiritual, and livelihood therapies.
