MEDAN (13 July 2020) - The Center for Social Rehabilitation of People Living with HIV (BRSODH) “Bahagia” in Medan held a webinar with the topic “Social Rehabilitation of ODHA in the COVID-19 Pandemic Period. This webinar aims to increase the capacity of Human Resources (HR) who play an important role in social rehabilitation services for People with HIV/AIDS (ODHA). This webinar was attended by 250 people from the Ministry of Social Affairs, Social Service, Hospitals, National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and Social Welfare Institutions (LKS) who are involved in supporting social rehabilitation services for PLWHA and spread throughout Indonesia.
The event was opened by the Head of the Administrative Sub-Section, Robert Sitorus, who explained about the rules and regulations during this webinar. Furthermore, the material of social rehabilitation service assistance (ATENSI) was presented by the Head of Happy Center, Sumarno Sri Wibowo.
"There is a new work system related to dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, and HIV is no exception. Bahagia Center realizes that this is a challenge in an uncertain situation, trying to prepare and equip human resources, by providing debriefing with the theme of social rehabilitation during the COVID-19 pandemic," said Sri Wibowo.
“Hopefully, through this webinar, positive recommendations will emerge, especially in the social rehabilitation of ODHA, finally there will be a rehabilitation model to access in terms of health, social and other aspects. Furthermore, it is expected to make a positive contribution to the global target of 3 Zero," hoped Sri Wibowo.
The second speaker, AyiHaryani as Lecturer of the Bandung Social Welfare Polytechnic, conveyed matters relating to Social Rehabilitation of ODHA During the COVID-19 Pandemic. "There are three approaches currently being developed by the Ministry of Social Affairs in providing social assistance to the social welfare service recipients (PPKS). There are family based care, community based care and residential based care," explained Ayi while explaining the material presented.
The enthusiasm of the webinar participants was also shown by the number of questions that entered the webinar chat room. Many of the participants who came from outside the Ministry of Social Affairs stated that social assistance was a completely new service concept for them.
At the end of the webinar, the organizing committee also distributed an evaluation questionairon the implementation of this webinar activity. As a result, the participants really hope that the same activity can be carried out again with a more interesting theme.
