MAKASSAR (July 25th, 2024) – Three beneficiaries from Palopo City in South Sulawesi received assistive devices for persons with disabilities in the form of a three-wheeled motorcycle which was directly given by Wirajaya Center in Makassar. The assistance was given symbolically by the Head of Wirajaya Center in Makassar Nur Alam dan accepted by the acting head of Palopo Mayor Asrul Sani in Palopo City Social Office’s yard on Thursday (July 25th, 2024).

After receiving the assistance, the acting head of Palopo Mayor Asrul Sani gave the motorcycles to each beneficiary, Kasmuddin, Joko, and Syarifuddin, witnessed by the head of Palopo City Social Office Zulkifli Halid, and the chairman of Indonesian Persons With Disabilities Association (PPDI) of Palopo City Asrianu Bachry accompanying the acting head of Palopo mayor.

“We appreciate and are so thankful for the assistance from Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA). I hope it can improve the beneficiary’s business and improve their family’s welfare,” said the acting head of Palopo Mayor Asrul San.

The head of Wirajaya Center in Makassar Nur Alam hoped that the assistance could be used well. “The assistance is for developing their business and later, there has to be an increase in the income,” Nur Alam said. Furthermore, Nur Alam reminded the beneficiaries to have a better income than before receiving the assistance. “There has to be an improvement felt by the beneficiaries,” he said.

One of the beneficiaries, Syarifuddin expressed his gratitude for the assistance given by MoSA. He would use it to improve his fish-selling business on the roadside of Palopo City.

“Thank you for the three-wheeled motorcycle assistance. I will use it to develop my vegetable-selling business. And also fish and vegetable selling business,” said the man living in Balandai Urban Village, Bara Subdistrict.

Using the assistance, Syarifuddin would bring the fish and vegetables and go around selling them. “I will no longer stay on the roadside as I usually did,” he ended.
