"Rumbai" Children's Center Provides Nutrition Assistance for Persons with Disabilities and Children against the Law in Pelalawan
PELALAWAN (April 10, 2021) - The Ministry of Social
Affairs through the "Rumbai" Children's Center in Pekanbaru conducted
a community-based Social Rehabilitation Assistance Service Program (ATENSI) in
Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province. The Children's ATENSI program is aimed at the
cluster of children from groups of persons with disabilities and also Children against
the Law (ABH).
The provision of
nutritional support is carried out in several different places, namely Simpang
Beringin, Pangkalan Kerinci, Pangkalan Kuras, Bandar Petalangan, Bukit Kesuma
Village, and Sei Medang Village.
Following the direction
of the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, that the Balai Besar /
Balai / Loka (The Social Rehabilitation Centers) within the Directorate General
of Social Rehabilitation must be multi-service, there are as many as 22
children with disabilities and 18 ABHs who have gone through rapid assessments
to receive family and community-based ATENSI services in the form of support
fulfillment of decent living in the form of nutritional assistance.
This amount was obtained
based on the results of the data and area mapping by the Social Worker Service Unit
(Sakti Peksos) and the District Social Welfare Worker (TKSK) in the local area.
The head of the
"Rumbai" Children's Center in this case is represented by a Social
Worker, Mami Sufitanur, explaining the form of ATENSI "Rumbai" Children's
Center activities. "The ATENSI program consists of 7 service components.
One of which we will provide today is support services for the fulfillment of a
decent life in the form of nutritional stimulants. The Social Rehabilitation Center will also later be
able to give access to school equipment needs, medical treatment and examinations,
or support for entrepreneurship, therapy, and so on, "explained Mami.
Head of Section for
Social Rehabilitation of Children and Social Services for Elderly of Pelalawan
Regency, Rifandi, welcomed the Children's ATENSI program conducted by Children’s
Center "Rumbai" in Pekanbaru, "We are very grateful for this
activity and will be happy to support and back up this kind of activity because
it is in line with our vision and mission," he said.
The family is also very
enthusiastic about the ATENSI program, they are very grateful for the
nutritional assistance that has been given. Besides, the family also hopes
that their children will have access to education.
Then, they also hope for easy access to health services for children, because so far many families have not been reached by the local Social Service in terms of providing health services for their children.
