PURWOKERTO (JUNE 3, 2022) – The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Satria Baturraden Center carries out Blood Donor activities. Concerns about the increase in cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in Indonesia encourage a Blood Donor Social Action to be held on Friday (3/6) at the Central Office of Satria Center Baturraden. In collaboration with the Banyumas Regency Red Cross.

This activity involves employees, and Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS) at Satria Center Baturraden and is open to the general public. According to information from the Ayodonor.pmi.or.id website, every 8 seconds there is 1 person who needs a blood transfusion in Indonesia.

Ayugita Nurazizah Tama, a doctor at the Blood Donor Unit of PMI Banyumas Regency who accompanied this activity, said that the current supply conditions in Banyumas area are within safe limits. However, with the current increase in cases of Dengue Fever, blood donation activities must still be carried out.

"We can see that the weather now is often rainy, so the dengue fever has increased. With this blood donation, we don’t afraid out of stock,” said Ayugita.

"The enthusiasm from MoSA, social workers, and the surrounding community is very good, but knowledge about the conditions for being able to donate blood still needs to be improved," she said.

This Blood Donation activity managed to collect 33 bags of blood from a total of 66 participants. The head of the Satria Center Baturraden, Darmanto, explained that apart from concerns about the increasing cases of Dengue Fever, this social action was carried out as part of a series of commemorations of the 26th National Elderly Day.

This blood donation activity is a humanitarian action because one drop of blood that is released can be useful and valuable for other people in need.
