JAKARTA (October 18th, 2019) - "Tan Miyat" Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Sensory Disabilities (BRSPDSN) examined 13 People with Blind Sensory Disabilities (PDSN) beneficiaries who are Low Vision (LV) beneficiaries at Low Vision Layak Jakarta Foundation. The examination is carried out to optimize the remaining vision that can still be utilized from the PDSN.
The examination is carried out in several stages, the first stage is an assessment of the history of eye health and eye examination, which aims to determine the types of limitations of persons with blind disabilities, whether included in the category of LV, LV to total or total blind.
The second stage is a follow-up eye examination to determine the type of glasses / lenses / other aids that suit the needs of the beneficiaries. The third stage is a referral to an ophthalmologist for Low Vision cases such as nystagmus, glaucoma and / or a surgery history. The last or fourth step is the provision of glasses / other aids such as monochrome lenses, lucki, and digital magnifiers.
The results of this examination are that five people can use monochrome glasses, five people use a Lucki type lens, three people use a digital magnifier.
The activity initiated from the results of
the cooperation agreement between "Tan Miyat" BRSPDSN and the Layak
Foundation, one of it is provided the opportunity for "Tan Miyat"
BRSPDSN beneficiaries to get a free check-up as well as getting guidance on how
to use assistance that are used and will be conducted periodically for each
class.
