SIGI (13 July 2021) – "Nipotowe" Social
Rehabilitation Center of Palu is committed to being ready to provide services
to all Social Welfare Service Recipients (PPKS). Following the
direction of the Minister of Social Affairs that all Technical Implementation
Units (UPT) of the Ministry of Social Affairs to implement multi-functional
services, including the "Nipotowe" Center of Palu.
As a first step, the
Center held training on the Indonesian Language Sign System (SIBI) for
employees and honorary staff who provide direct services to Beneficiaries (PM).
A total of 20 employees
and honorary staff including Social Workers, Social Counselors, Psychologists,
Occupational Therapists, Nurses, and Skills Instructors participated in the
SIBI training. This activity is carried out to prepare service personnel who
are ready to serve persons with hearing and speech sensory disabilities.
Communication has an
important role in the ATENSI (Social Rehabilitation Assistance) service
process, where at every stage of the service, communication is crucial.
Communication barriers can cause inaccurate services provided. Therefore, the
commitment of "Nipotowe" Palu to prepare to carry out multi-service
begins with this training.
"We need to
understand what the PM said, lest we don't understand. In the future, if
necessary, we will learn braille,” said Syaiful Samad, Head of the
"Nipotowe" Center of Palu to all service personnel.
