The Smiles of the Children of the Sea Tribe Welcoming National Children's Day
BERTAM (July 31, 2022) – The Ministry of Social Affairs held the National Children's Day Series in 2022 not only in Lombok Timur which will be the location of the highlight of the event, but cheers echoed through the National Children's Day Series (HAN) to the locations of the marine tribes of the islands of Bertam, Gare and Lingke.
The children of the Sea Tribe are part of the category of children who need protection and whose rights must be fulfilled. The right to live properly as a child, the right to grow and develop, the right to be protected and avoid discrimination, and the right to participate in the future.
The Minister of Social Affairs (7/6) visited the Sea Tribe on the island of Tam, as a form of the Minister of Social Affairs' great concern that all children without exception have the same rights, the right to be protected, the right to grow and develop, to be happy and to be free to be creative.
HAN became a ceremony for the children of the marine tribes of Bertam, Gara, and Lingke islands to express their cheerful expressions straightforwardly and spontaneously when the Ministry of Social Affairs team invited them to play bekel ball, halma, snakes, and ladders, finger puppet plays and when triangulation of responsive data on children's rights was declared.
The Ministry of Social Affairs through the Social Rehabilitation Assistance Program (ATENSI) and the Directorate of Social Protection and Social Disaster Victims (PSKBS), provides various types of assistance to the children of the Sea Tribe in Bertam, Gare, and Lingke Islands.
The PSKBS Directorate assisted in the form of school equipment, such as backpacks, school uniforms, shoes, socks, pencil cases, colored pencils, and notebooks. The Pangudi Luhur Bekasi Integrated Center assists elementary, middle, and high school children with sports uniforms and Scouts. Nutritional assistance (honey, milk, eggs, green bean juice, and biscuits), Assistance for personal hygiene (towels, soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste). Very child-responsive help.
Which makes the children cheer with joy to receive it. As stated by Riski, a 10-year-old, fifth-grade elementary school student, grinning happily trying on his new shoes, when he was visited at his stilt house on the coast of Gare Island, “hiii... I am happy, very happy ma'am, I received new things for school, from whom? The things are from the Ministry of Social Affairs, yes it is! Mamak (mother) no longer needs to spend money to shop at the shop! I no longer have to work trawling to find a nose to shop for clothes and shoes.”
The children of the Sea Tribe of the islands of Bertam, Lingke and Gare celebrate National Children's Day, cheering and waiting for the smile and greeting of the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia at the peak event of HAN on August 1, 2022, in Lombok Timur.
