"Toddopuli" Center Provides Psychosocial Support Services for Children Affected by Tornado
SIDRAP
(19 May 2021) - Following up on the
direction of the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini so that Social
Rehabilitation Centers also respond quickly to natural disasters, Toddopuli Center
carries out Psychosocial Support Services (LDP) activities and also provides
Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) program to 61 children affected by a
tornado in Sidrap Regency.
Located in Toddopuli Center, the Head of the
Dua Pitue Sub-district, the activity was opened directly by the Head of the
Social Service of the Sidrap Regency accompanied by the Head of the Dua Pitue
Sub-district.
Tamsil Jayadi, a Middle Social Worker
representing the Head of Toddopuli Center, said that the LDP activity was a
follow-up to the comprehensive assessment activity that had been carried out
some time ago. From the assessment data we obtained, we divided the children into
several age groups, namely 0 - 5 years, 6 - 13 years, and 15 - 18 years. In
addition to implementing LDP, we also provide ATENSI assistance according to
their age.
In his remarks, Soalihin, the Head of the
Sidrap Regency Social Service, thanked the Ministry of Social Affairs,
especially the Toddopuli Center in Makassar for responding to the tornado
natural disaster that had occurred. He hopes that the assistance provided by
the Center can benefit the children and their families.
Andi Sammang, Head of the Dua Pitue
Sub-district, also thanked the Ministry of Social Affairs for the great
attention of the Ministry for the Dua Pitue Community who had suffered from the
disaster. And hope that the conditions of the affected children can return to
good, and can carry out their activities like the day before.
LDP activities are divided into 2 age groups,
namely children and adolescents. At the age of the children are given drawing
and coloring games. Meanwhile, Social Workers for adolescents invite them to
playgroup dynamics, hula hoops, and sing.
