PATI
(July 17, 2021) – Social
Rehabilitation Center “Margo Laras” Pati today received very proud news that
makes them very satisfied also. It’s about the former beneficiaries of Margo
Laras, namely two brothers with mental disabilities from the Special Region of
Yogyakarta (DIY), Ening and Endah have succeeded in starting a business of selling
food.
Process and trying will not betray the
results. The two siblings, who started a business of selling food, are now
getting orders for packaged rice for the DIY Province Covid-19 Task Force. The
Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) program provided by Margo Laras is
used to support productive economic businesses of selling food.
“Alhamdulillah,
I hope that with their busy schedules, Ening and Endah will become more
independent. Even the kelurahan also
orders as many as 20 packs of rice every Tuesday and Friday, in addition to
orders from the Covid-19 task force,” said the Disability Assistant and Sleman
Mental Health Cadre, Rini when asked to give a virtual testimony.
Previously, Margo Laras Center (6/7/2021) had
carried out termination and returning home of beneficiaries. They are picked up
by their families or the Social Service of their area of origin by complying
with health protocols and showing the results of the 1x24 hour Antigen Swab.
Two siblings with mental disabilities from
Yogyakarta, Ening and Endah, are former beneficiaries of Margo Laras Pati.
Before joining the residential-based ATENSI program, they tend to withdraw from
the social environment, lack communication, lack confidence, and have not been
able to express their feelings.
With the touch of Margo Laras assistant
officers through physical therapy, regular check-ups with a psychiatrist,
psychosocial therapy, mental-spiritual therapy, and attending vocational
training and entrepreneurship coaching, their confidence began to grow. For 4
months, even during the pandemic, their enthusiasm did not subside in
participating in the practice of learning to work “batik” at the place of
business, until they managed to get a certificate of graduation from social
rehabilitation.
