SURABAYA (June 2, 2022) - The Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma'ruf Amin accompanied by the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, paid tribute to the elderly beneficiaries of the Ministry of Social Affairs by handing over basic food assistance and entrepreneurship assistance at Balai Pemuda of Surabaya Town Square.

 

Vice President Ma'ruf Amin handed over social assistance to 50 beneficiaries consisting of the elderly, PKH, and BPNT in Lumajang Regency with total assistance of IDR 80,000,000. The assistance consists of PKH, BPNT, and BLT Cooking Oil.

 

After handing over the assistance in Lumajang Regency, Ma'ruf Amin went to Surabaya City to deliver other social assistance at there.

 

Ma'ruf Amin handed over social assistance to 50 elderly in Surabaya city. The total assistance provided is IDR 82,893,600, consisting of ANSI, PKH, BPNT, and BLT for Cooking Oil.

 

"Today I hand over social assistance and empowerment assistance. Hopefully, this empowerment can accelerate the welfare of the beneficiaries", said the Vice President, Ma'ruf Amin in front of the media crew.

 

ATENSI which is one component of social assistance was given to 10 elderly in Lumajang Regency and 10 elderly in Surabaya City. The entrepreneurship assistance provided is for the business of convenience stores, rice stalls, coffee shops, and selling siomay around.

 

Minister Risma also said that MoSA does not only provide social assistance. "There is business capital assistance for poor families. They are expected not only to receive social assistance but also to be able to do business with empowerment assistance," said Risma.

 

The provision of this assistance is based on the results of an assessment that has been carried out by the Technical Implementation Unit of the Ministry of Social Affairs, namely Mahatmiya Bali Center and Integrated Center Prof. Dr. Soeharso Surakarta to elderly recipients of assistance.

 

"I am grateful, I got help from MoSA. I am selling it because I am still helping to pay for my grandchildren at home. Later when I am not strong enough, my child will continue to sell," said Koestini (70 years old).

 

On this occasion also Vice President Ma'ruf Amin handed over assistance from Baznas for santri (male students at Islamic boarding school) and santriwati (the female students at Islamic boarding school) as well assistance from BPJS in the form of educational scholarships.
