Head of the Educational Research and Social Counseling Agency: Alumni of Social Welfare Polytechnic is a Part of Ministry of Social Affairs

BANDUNG (February 4, 2020) - Head of the
Education Agency for Research and Social Counseling (BP3S), Prof. Syahabuddin
said the challenge of the Ministry of Social Affairs' task in implementing
social welfare development, especially reducing poverty, was not easy.
"Without
the Social Welfare Polytechnic (Poltekesos) alumni, I believe that the Ministry
of Social Affairs could not do much. I hope to continue building communication
with the Ministry of Social Affairs, because the Poltekesos is actually a part
of Ministry of Social Affairs
itself," said Prof. Syahabuddin, Head of the Social Research and
Counseling Education Agency (BP3S) in the 55th Anniversary of the Poltekesos, Tuesday, 4/02/2020.
The
number one person at BP3S also conveyed greetings from the Minister of Social
Affairs (Mensos) Juliari P. Batubara who was supposed to attend but for one
reason or another could not attend.
"He
conveyed his apologies to the Poltekesos students, because he had to accompany
the President in Bogor, so he could not attend us today," said the Head of
BP3S.
The
Head of BP3S advised all Poltekesos academicians at the age of 55 this year, to
continue sharpen their ability to solve problems and seize a job opportunities.
"In
the future, the Minister of Social Affairs wants a nursery pattern from the
development of the Poltekesos campus. The direction from the Minister of Social
Affairs so that the Poltekesos will become Official Schools in the future.
Students who excel can immediately become Civil Servants (PNS) at the Ministry
of Social Affairs," said Syahabuddin with enthusiastic applause from the
entire academic community are present.
Related
to the dissemination of Law no. 14 of 2019 on Social Workers (Peksos), the Head
of the BP3S stated that the Social Workers Law must be known by all social
worker practitioners including being known by alumni of Higher Education
schools majoring in Social Welfare in Indonesia.
"We continue to communicate with all universities that have Social Welfare Study Programs. Today in Bandung also through the Center for Professional Development of Social Workers and Social Counselors a meeting was held with all Chancellors and Heads of Social Welfare Study Programs," concluded the Head of BP3S.
