Social Minister Conveys that Research and Social Counseling Education Agency is Ministry of Social Affairs’s Brain

JAKARTA (February 6, 2020) - Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P. Batubara conveyed
the challenges and duties of the Social Research and Counseling Education
Agency (BP3S) in realizing superior social ministry human resources in 2020.
"BP3S is
the Leading Sector for development Social Welfare Human Resources. BP3S is the
Ministry of Social Affairs’s brain, whatever programs in the Ministry of Social
Affairs must be tested academically, "said the Minister of Social Affairs
in his remarks at the Human Resources Development of the Education Research and
Social Counseling Agency for 2020, at Aneka Bhakti of the
Ministry of Social Affairs Building, Thursday, 6 / 02/20.
Along with the
launching of the Ministry of Social Affairs' new tagline, #Kemensos Hadir. The
Minister of Social Affairs also reminded all participants who were present to
continue to instill Humanist, Adaptive, Dedicative, Inclusive and Responsive
values.
"I remind
you again that this tagline is not only carried out but also animated,"
said the Minister of Social Affairs in front of Central Employees in the BP3S
environment.
Regarding the
Social Welfare Polytechnic (Poltekesos), the Minister also expressed his hope
that the Poltekesos would become a semi-official campus where the roadmap is
currently being prepared.
"In the
future, we will combine this Poltekesos as a semi-official school. So the students
who study there already have a picture of what their future will be and it will
also increase the bargaining power of our school among other schools that have
the same study program, "said the Minister of Social Affairs.
Another topic
touched on at this meeting was related to Law no. 14 of 2019 on Social Workers.
The Minister of
Social Affairs said the need to strengthen the role of social workers which is
an acceleration of the Bandung Poltekesos campus construction process. The
construction of a new campus is closely related to the availability of
facilities and infrastructure for the formation of social work human resources
required by law.
This is in line
with the issuance of Law no. 14/2019, which is a recognition of the social work
profession. Consequently, said the Minister of Social Affairs, a means of
fostering the profession is needed so that it is made into a semi-official.
The Minister of
Social Affairs ordered the Education Research and Social Counseling Agency to
play an active role, especially through the Professional Development Center
(Pusbangprof).
