The Working Visit of the Minister of Social Affairs to the Social Welfare Education and Training Center

JAKARTA (January 27, 2020) - The Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P
Batubara paid a working visit to the Social Welfare Education and Training
Center (Pusdiklat Kesos). The Minister conveyed that his visit was carried out
to stay in touch with employees and supervise the facilities at the Social
Welfare Education and Training Center.
The Minister
accompanied by the Secretary-General, Head of Education, Training and Social
Counseling Center, Head of Public Relations Bureau, Head of Social Welfare
Education and Training Center and the boards supervised the buildings and
facilities including dormitory, auditorium, dining room and Tiara building.
They also took a look at renovated buildings that will be used as classrooms,
discussion rooms and working space for employees.
The Head of
Education, Training and Social Counseling Center in his remarks stated that the
Social Welfare Education and Training Center located in Jalan Radio Dalam,
South Jakarta. It is 39,026 M2 wide including the land of the former Tiara
Foundation. Meanwhile, the area managed by the Social Welfare Education and
Training Center is 20,000 M2.
The Social
Welfare Education and Training Center is one among the working units under the
Ministry of Social Affairs where the trainers improve their skills and acquire
knowledge.
"Social
Welfare Education and Training Center has qualified capabilities, adequate
equipment and facilities so that all activities here are carried out properly
and the results can improve the quality of our human resources," said the
Minister.
The Minister
also stated that Ministry of Social Affairs has a responsibility to implement
social welfare programs for people with disabilities, underprivileged families
and disaster protection so that those who work under the Ministry of Social
Affairs are required to have integrity, empathy and real action. Furthermore,
according to the Disabilities Act, the government should provide at least 2%
job opportunity for people with disabilities. Thus, it has to be guaranteed
that the facilities provided are easy to be accessed by people with
disabilities.
