PEMATANGSIANTAR (April 20, 2023) – Risk mitigation efforts for key populations in Pematangsiantar City, North Sumatra Province were carried out in PMI Pematangsiantar Hall for 20 beneficiaries who are assisted by Siantar Plus Peer Support Group.
Mitigation was carried out by the Ministry of Social Affairs together with Bahagia Center Technical Implementation Unit Medan in the form of counseling on reproductive health and HIV/AIDS prevention among key populations who are still active as female sex workers and men who like men (gay).
Representing the Head of Bahagia Center, Lyana Siregar as Associate-level Social Counselor stated that mitigation activities are a form of concern and that the Ministry of Social Affairs is present for vulnerable groups, including key populations.
"We from the Ministry of Social Affairs together with Medan Bahagia Center are here to provide support so they can minimize risks. Here we have speakers from specialist doctors in the field of reproductive health and from the Social Office to provide information on how to prevent HIV/AIDS transmission as well as local government efforts to deal with cases of PLHIV," said Lyana Siregar.
Bahagia Center has provided 20 Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) packages in the form of groceries and nutrition.
"We have provided basic food assistance to beneficiaries in the form of rice, cooking oil, two planks of eggs, two kilograms of granulated sugar, milk, honey, vitamins, and fish oil," added Lyana.

the form of food and nutrition can be helped. "Greetings from him to all
of you. He was unable to attend due to concurrent activities. Hopefully, ATENSI
aid provided can be useful such as nutrition for health," he said.
