BRSAMPK "Handayani" Explores Cooperation with KOICA
JAKARTA (November 6, 2019) - The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) visited the “Handayani” Social Rehabilitation Center for Children who need Special Protection (BRSAMPK) in Jakarta to explore the potential for cooperation in the field of youth development.
This visit is the second conducted by KOICA. The purpose of the visit is to conduct an assessment of physical infrastructure, facilities and infrastructure, as well as the rehabilitation curriculum. In addition, the KOICA delegation also assessed the center management, including budget, the amount of human resources, and the obstacles and challenges faced in the process of rehabilitating children who need special protection (AMPK).
A total of nine KOICA delegates came to BRSAMPK “Handayani” in Jakarta, accompanied by the Planning Bureau of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Korean NGOs and academics. Mr. Kim Sejin, Deputy Country Director said that he is interested in working together in the field of vocational training.
"We have a project outline that we are compiling, including skills training in the fields of computers, carpenter and cooking," said Kim. BRSAMPK "Handayani" may be able to choose which project is needed, he continued.
In addition, KOICA also offers a form of cooperation in the field of enrichment of foreign languages such as English and other foreign languages.
This cooperation was welcomed by the Head of BRSAMPK “Handayani”, Neneng Heryani. "This is an opportunity for us to develop the existing rehabilitation process, of course by taking into account the best interests of the child," explained Neneng when giving a presentation to the KOICA group.
KOICA and BRSAMPK “Handayani” in Jakarta will continue to discuss possible cooperation schemes and programs that will be agreed in the future. Before ending the visit, the KOICA delegation conducted an infrastructure assessment by visiting the existing facilities at BRSAMPK “Handayani” in Jakarta.
