BRSODH "Wasana Bahagia" Helps PLHIV Access Advanced Health Services
TERNATE (September 20, 2019) - The Shelter Home Service Team for the Rehabilitation Center for People with HIV (BRSODH) "Wasana Bahagia" Ternate reaches out to people with HIV (ODH) who need access to advanced health services at Chasan Boesiri Ternate Regional Hospital in Kabau, Sula Islands District, North Maluku.
The "Wasana Bahagia" team picked up ODH and their companion at Ternate's Ahmad Yani Port to get assistance. Furthermore, ODH get accommodation facilities in the form of a place to stay and fulfill basic needs such as eating, drinking, and toiletries.
Another intervention given to ODH is the provision of assistance and education. Assistance and education are provided when PLHIV access VCT services, laboratory checks and ARV therapy counseling at the Chasan Boesiri Regional General Hospital in Ternate as well as providing basic knowledge of HIV / AIDS and social worker support during the griefing period in knowing HIV reactive status and ARV therapy readiness.
Until September 2019, the Shelter House Service as one of the responses to the BRSODH "Wasana Bahagia" Ternate case has been accessed by 35 PLHIVs from North Maluku, both new PLHIVs and PLHIV who need a Shelter Home Service for taking ARVs at Chasan Boesiri Ternate Hospital.
