UJUNG BERUNG (October 4, 2019) - Persons with Net Sensory Disabilities who are beneficiaries in the Barista Class, as one of the programs which is a collaboration between the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia through the "Netata Sensory Rehabilitation Center (BRSPDSN)" Wyata Guna "Bandung with Siloam Center for The Blind of Korea, attended the Coffee Workshop at the Coffee Plantation CV. Samm’s Farm, Ujung Berung, Bandung, and at Upnormal Coffee Roaster, on 3-4 October 2019.
Also present was the Head of BRSPDSN "Wyata Guna" Bandung, Sudarsono as one of the speakers at this event. He said that blind people must not be inferior, must be brave to compete with other barista who are not disabled, because what is measured is expertise.
"Make a difference as an innovation in the preparation and presentation of coffee, then support it with massive publications to increase public understanding that the blind can be a professional barista," Sudarsono said.
Coffee expert and coffee business practitioner, Sammy B.Y Legi, was also presented as a guest speaker. With his experience as a coffee plantation owner and has three coffee shops in the city of Bandung, barista class beneficiaries are taught how to process coffee from picking coffee beans until they are ready to be processed into coffee drinks.
It is hoped that this activity can open the eyes of the world that currently the profession of professional barista can be owned by people with blind sensory disabilities. In addition, BRSPDSN "Wyata Guna" also plays a part in it through social assistance provided to beneficiaries for the development of its independence.
