BANDUNG (11th June 2020) - Director of Social Rehabilitation for Children, Kanya Eka Santi, distributed assistance for handling the COVID-19 pandemic for neglected children at the Child Care Social Institution (PSAA) for Healthy Babies in Bandung. The determination of beneficiaries is based on the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) that has been filled in by each Child Welfare Institution (LKSA).
Kanya explained that assistance in the areas of Bandung City, Bandung Regency and Cimahi City was for 801 children assisted by 64 LKSAs. "The budget comes from refocusing the Child Social Rehabilitation Directorate to focus on children and families affected by COVID-19," explained Kanya. The Ministry of Social Affairs continues to strive to deal with social assistance as a whole for people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We thank the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation for Children of the Ministry of Social Affairs for distributing assistance to 470 children assisted by 38 LKSAs," said the Head of the Bandung City Social Service, Suhartono.
The Head of the PSAA Bandung Healthy Babies as well as the Chair of the PSAA / LKSA National Forum, Yanto Pibiwanto expressed his hope that the Ministry of Social Affairs would continue to work together with the PSAA / LKSA National Forum in the framework of caring for and protecting children and preventing child abuse in Indonesia.
The Directorate of Child Social Care Team then headed to Bandung Regency to distribute assistance to the 249 children assisted by 19 LKSAs at Puteri Sartika's PSAA. Head of The Sub-directorate of Social Rehabilitation for Neglected Children, Mr. Kahono Agung Suhartoyo, accompanied by the Head of Social Empowerment of the Bandung Regency Social Service, ensured that assistance was received by LKSA assisted children.
"Thank you for the cooperation between the Social Service, Sakti Peksos and LKSA which have worked well from the stage of submitting assistance proposals to distribution," said Agung. The package of assistance per child for 300 thousand consists of 5 kg of rice, 800 grams of milk, 1 jar of sausage, 330 grams of cereal, 1 packet of biscuits and 1 kg of eggs.
The city of Cimahi was the last location for the team to distribute the assistance. Assistance for 82 children assisted by 7 LKSAs was handed over at the South Cimahi Sub-District Office. This activity was attended by the Head of Social Rehabilitation, the Chairperson of the LKSA and Sakti Peksos. The distribution and utilization of this assistance must pay attention to the COVID-19 pandemic protocol, which focuses on meeting the basic needs of children.
