Cilacap Refinery Tank Burns, Ministry of Social Assists Affected Residents
CILACAP (15
November 2021) - The Ministry of Social Affairs distributed aid
in the form of nine basic commodities for residents affected by the refinery
fire in Cilacap, Central Java. Representing the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri
Rismaharini, Director of Social Protection for Social Disaster Victims (PSKBS),
Harapan Lumban Gaol handed over the aid directly, Monday (15/11).
"The
Minister of Social Affairs, Ms Risma, is very concerned about the people
affected by this disaster. Therefore, she asked me to immediately send social
assistance in the form of necessities," said Gaol in front of the
aid recipients in Cilacap, Monday (15/15). 11).
Through the
assistance provided, he hopes it can help reduce the burden of the affected
people, "We hope that the assistance provided at this time can help the
affected people," continued Gaol.
Meanwhile,
representing the Regent of Cilacap, Assistant I for Government and People's
Welfare of Cilacap Regency, Dian Setyabudi, said that the Cilacap Regency
Government greatly appreciated the Ministry of Social Affairs quick response
after the refinery fire incident.
In addition
to Assistant I for Government and People's Welfare of Cilacap Regency, also
present in the distribution of aid, Head of the Cilacap Regency Social Service,
Arida Puji Hastuti, Lurah Lomanis Wahyu, Pertamina RU IV Cilacap
Representative, Sunaryo Adi, Secretary of Central Cilacap District, Central
Cilacap Police Chief, as well as the ranks of the Social Service of Cilacap
Regency and Lomanis Village and representatives of Lomanis Village residents
who live in the area where the fire is located and are affected.
As reported,
a tank at Pertamina's refinery located in Cilacap, Central Java, was reported
to have caught fire on Saturday (13/11) at 08.00 pm. The fire occurred
precisely when heavy rains were flushing the area around the refinery area. The
incident, which showed flames and smoke rising into the air, was also captured
and uploaded by residents who live near the refinery.
