Commemoration of the 27th HLUN, Director General of Social Rehabilitation: Prepare as Best as Possible!

JAKARTA (May 6, 2023) – The 27th National Elderly Day (HLUN) commemoration activities in Dharmasraya District, West Sumatra Province continue to be finalized by the Team from the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation.

"The 27th HLUN activity is an event to serve the community, so make sure the work unit that sends the team prepares the needs and doesn't burden the area," said Director General of Social Rehabilitation Pepen Nazaruddin in an online meeting or Zoom meeting, Saturday (6/5).

Considering that the HLUN Commemoration series is national in nature, not every region has to send all potentials but can hold commemorations in the regions by displaying uniqueness according to local wisdom.

"Not all offices or centers send teams to the top HLUN locations, but leave teams for warnings in the regions by displaying the wisdom of the local community," said the Director General of Social Affairs in response to a Zoom meeting participant from Jayapura Regional Center VI, John Mampioper.

The 27th HLUN commemoration in Dharmasraya Regency is scheduled to be attended by the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini and invitations will be sent in the next few days.

"We immediately sent a letter to the Minister of Social Affairs either before H-1 or H-2 to reinforce the meaning and message of the event for all elements of the nation so that they always care about the fate of the elderly," said Pepen.

The 27th HLUN Commemoration Series will also hold social services such as cataract surgery. There is also something unique compared to last year, in the form of mass weddings for the elderly which have not been officially registered in the state but have official documents from the local Civil Registry Service.

The online meeting or Zoom meeting was attended by the Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Secretary of the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation, Heads of Centers and Heads of Education and Training Centers, representatives of the Central Office, and Public Relations of the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation.
