Empowerment of Arabica Coffee KAT41 Gayo Highlands
The 41 families of the Remote Indigenous Community (KAT) in Lembah Terang Hamlet, Pantan Sinaku Village, Bener Meriah Aceh Regency received Business Empowerment Assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs in the form of Coffee Tree Seeds totaling 1,000 seeds / KK. The KAT community utilizes fertile land in the highlands for cultivating coffee trees as their main livelihood.
The coffee beans planted are of the Ateng Super type (Gayo Arabica coffee variety) with superior varieties with distinctive flavors. The KAT community per household in a year produces 3 - 4 tons of coffee beans. The income of the KAT community per household in a year is IDR64 million or IDR4 - 5 million per month. The KAT community is grateful to have been given coffee seedlings and is now harvesting the results. The KAT coffee product is called "KAT41 Gayo Arabica Coffee".
