Finalizing the Implementation of ATENSI Program for Elderly, “Budhi Dharma” Center Holds Dissemination

BEKASI (June 22, 2021) - Responding to the increasingly of social problems of the elderly in Indonesia, the Ministry of Social Affairs through the "Budhi Dharma" Bekasi Center as the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Ministry of Social Affairs within the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation carried out the Dissemination of the Social Rehabilitation Assistance Program (ATENSI).

ATENSI is a social rehabilitation service that uses a family, community, and/or residential based approach through activities to support the fulfillment of decent living needs, social care, and/or child care, family support, physical therapy, psychosocial therapy, mental spiritual therapy, vocational training, coaching entrepreneurship, social assistance, and accessibility support.

By inviting representatives of the Provincial Social Service, Chairperson of the Elderly Social Welfare Institution Forum (LKS-LU), and Elderly Social Rehabilitation Companions from eight work areas, the Center conducted dissemination while strengthening the role of the community in providing social services to the elderly.

The implementation of this activity is divided into two times. The eight provinces participating in the first dissemination were South Sumatra, Jambi, Lampung, Central Java, West Java, East Java, Yogyakarta Special Region, and Banten. The other eight provinces will be implemented next.

The activities carried out in the Center were opened directly by the Director of Social Rehabilitation for the Elderly, Andi Hanindito. The speech continued with the delivery of material on the Coordination of the ATENSI Program for the Elderly.

"This year, elderly services from the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation for the Elderly are not social assistance, but government assistance with an average value of IDR 2.4 million for one elderly, it could be less or more," said Andi.

The material was also delivered by Pujiyanto as the Head of the Center and Indrawan as the Section Head of Social Rehabilitation Services (LRS) as well as the Center’s Commitment Making Officer (PPK).

The basic problem that occurs in every province is the problem of neglected elderly who do not have identities such as ID cards and family cards. In addition, there are also many elderly who have not been registered in the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS).
