BANDUNG (August 14, 2020) - Head of the Education, Research and Social Counseling Agency (BP3S), Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) Syahabuddin directly welcomes new students of Social Welfare Polytechnic (Poltekesos Bandung) batch 2020.

"I say congratulations on the success of all of you who've been through the selection of PMB Poltekesos Bandung and welcome on this campus "said Syahabuddin during the meeting of the Senate Open Polytechnic Social Welfare (Poltekesos) Bandung in Building Auditorium Campus Poltekesos Bandung, Friday (14 / 8/2020).

The trial was held in the context of Admission of New Students for the Applied Undergraduate Program and Applied Master Program for the Academic Year 2020/2021.

On this occasion the Head of BP3S emphasized the importance of character education for students in whatever environment they are in.

"I ask the students to be more oriented to performance and not just pay attention to academic activities (lectures) as well as the desire to develop themselves," said Syahabuddin

He also advised that students pay attention to several principles, including the determination of goals and objectives clearly, and make the study as a tool rather aim.

In the 2020 new student admissions process, Poltekesos Bandung accepted 600 new students from 2899 registrants for the Applied Undergraduate Program.

This program itself is divided into three study programs (prodi), namely Social Work, Social Rehabilitation, and Social Protection and Empowerment.

In addition, there are 39 new students for the Applied Masters Program in the Social Work Study Program, consisting of 19 students from the New Student Admissions pathway (PMB), and 20 students from the achievement pathway.

On this occasion the Head of BP3S together with the Director of Poltekesos Bandung, symbolically paired the alma mater jacket to two representative students.

For information, this event was carried out while still following the recommendations for health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic, which was held online, and followed by new students using the Zoom application.

For new students, they are from the Applied Undergraduate Program who are domiciled in the city of Bandung and its surroundings. They follow the procession directly as student representatives.

After this activity, new students, especially from the Applied Undergraduate Program, will take part in a series of Institutional Program Introduction (PPI) activities for the next four days on Friday-Monday, August 14-17 2020.

In this PPI activity, students will be provided with various materials about an overview of the campus Poltekesos Bandung and the ongoing educational process.
