PEKANBARU (January 18, 2023) - To increase understanding of handling children against the law (ABH) with victim status, Riau Police's Women and Children Service Unit (PPA) conducted a visit to Abiseka Center Pekanbaru.

The comparative study visit involved 25 people as participants in Riau Police SPN PPA Training Program. All participants were investigators from Riau Regional Police and 10 Police Office within Riau Regional Police.

"The purpose and objective of this visit are to increase students' understanding that so far the government has provided treatment programs for victims of children and women. One of them in Riau is Abiseka Center. Sometimes we coordinate with centers such as for temporary placement and security. The victim's child is currently under investigation." said Wenny Hartati, Head of Riau Police PPA Unit in her remarks.

Responding to this, Head of Abiseka Center Pekanbaru, Agus Hasyim Ibrahim told the visiting participants, "This is a good opportunity to find out more about the implementation of Law no. 11 of 2012 on the Juvenile Criminal Justice System which is very closely related to the main duties and functions of the police in dealing with women and children who are against the law both as witnesses, victims, and perpetrators," he said.

In this activity, Agus explained the profile and service programs carried out by Abiseka Center including Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI), especially for ABH.
