International Disabilities Day Expo in the Main Square and Aneka Bhakti Building of MoSA
JAKARTA (December 30, 2022) - Still in celebration of International Disability
Day (HDI) 2022, the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Directorate of
Social Rehabilitation is holding an HDI Expo at Main Square and the Ministry of
Social Affairs Aneka Bhakti Building with the theme "Meaningful
Participation Towards Sustainable Inclusive Development". This year's HDI
is also the 30th anniversary since it was launched for the first time at the UN
General Assembly in 1992.
Aiming to strengthen the shared commitment to realizing
Respect, Protection, and Fulfillment of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities,
the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation presents the Work of Persons with
Disabilities from 31 Centers and Integrated Centers owned by the Ministry of
Social Affairs throughout Indonesia. And there is also an exhibition of 76
paintings from Persons with Disabilities which will be auctioned at the end of
the event. The HDI 2022 theme also emphasizes innovation, with the involvement
of technology, which is directed at improving accessibility of Persons with
Disabilities, and how disability problems can be solved in more creative ways, but
still effective and efficient. The types of products that can be found at the
HDI Expo include adaptive walking sticks, canes with water sensors, electric
wheelchairs, tricycles with windows, to screen reader applications that can be
used on devices such as mobile phones and laptops.
In addition to the forms of products that are superior to the Centers and Integrated Centers, this exhibition also displays other works by Persons with Disabilities, namely accessories such as bags, clothes, splashed batik cloth, and various displays, and there is also a Culinary Area that provides food and drinks for visitors to HDI Expo 2022—also accompanied by exciting performances from Persons with Disabilities on the main stage of Aneka Bhakti Building of the Ministry of Social Affairs such as Traditional Dances, music performance, and so on.

Nazaruddin in his remarks delivered a report on the activities that had been
carried out during the 2022 International Day of Disabilities series
"Following up the directive from the Minister of Social Affairs that the
2022 International Disability Day commemoration is more focused on improving
the quality of service, where we do it in various activity clusters namely
organizing National Social Solidarity Day 2022 in City and Regencies in Bali,
Indonesia Takes Steps, Indonesia Hears, Indonesia Sees, Indonesia Free from Stocks,
and ATENSI assistance, and ends with the HDI Expo from the products of disabilities.
The HDI Expo 2022 event also involves various parties as a form of collaboration, one of which is an ATM (Automated Teller Machine) equipped with new features according to the needs of the persons with a visual sensory disability," he said.
On this occasion, the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini carried out the Ribbon-cutting ceremony as a symbol that the International Day of Disabilities 2022 was officially closed since its opening on December 3, 2022. She also greeted the exhibition organizers from the Centers and Integrated Centers as well as the Beneficiaries who were present at HDI Expo in 2022, the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, also encouraged the organizers of their products to continue to seek innovations in producing works that the public will enjoy.
Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini also expressed gratitude in her remarks "Thank God we can and must continue to move and take steps to help our brothers and sisters with disabilities also conveyed the slogan for this event “no one left behind” because we all have the same rights in the eyes of God.
At the end of the International Day of
Disabilities Expo 2022, the Ministry of Social Affairs also assisted
with various tools, namely Electric Wheel Chairs, Adaptive Canes, Assistance
for Fulfilling Decent Living Needs, Entrepreneurship Assistance, Mobile Phones,
Laptops, and Food for Disabilities with total assistance of IDR
1,656,834,780. Meanwhile total assistance in HDI 2022 series, is IDR
33,200,000,000.
