JKK Social Service 2019 as a Form of Concern for Others
TANJUNG PINANG (October 24, 2019) - The Ministry of Social Affairs is distributing social assistance to the Sakera coastal community, Tanjung Uban Utara Village, Bintan Utara District, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province in the Social Event Cruising for Heroes' Ships (24/10). A total of 500 participants took part in social event consisting of students, scouts, student representatives, homes, youth organizations and social pillars (Youth Organization, Tagana, TKSK, and PSM) from Tanjung Pinang, Batam and Bintan.
In this activity, Ministry of Social Affairs distributes 1,000 food packages, 430 school supplies packages, 89 book packs and stationary, 700 goodie bags and sarongs, 385 pcs flip-flops, 200 reading glasses, 100 pcs Banyan Tree pens, and 40 pcs bath soap. In addition, it is also given free medical treatment, improvement of environmental facilities and the provision of health aids such as four foot sticks and crutches as many as 50 packets and 10 wheelchairs. The assistance provided comes from grants and cooperation with institutions, corporates, as well as agencies and other parties that provide support to social event activities.
Secretary of the Directorate General of Social Empowerment, Arif Nahari, said that the Social Event activities are a series of heroic exploration activities (JKK) year 2019 which is the commemoration of the anniversary of the 10 November hero Day.
"I hope this social services can make people to care more about others, if every element of the nation has an awareness to share against others on the basis of social solidarity, then our nation will be able to overcome all the challenges amid the rapid progress in various fields," said Arif.
