Kei Besar Residents Happily Welcome Clean Water Installation Assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs

The difficult clean water conditions in Ohoinangan Village, Kei Besar Island, Southeast Maluku Regency, make its residents have to walk every day to get clean water from a spring 1 kilometer from the settlement.

Residents generally use water from the Werlian spring which is 1 kilometer from the settlement for drinking and Hoar River water for bathing and washing clothes. However, during the east monsoon in April-October, rain rarely falls and there is no water stock in the Werlian spring and the Hoar River water does not flow.

Therefore, to meet the need for clean water during the east monsoon phase, residents are forced to buy gallons of water from Elat City.

Seeing these conditions, the Ministry of Social Affairs built a clean water installation equipped with reverse osmosis (RO) technology so that residents can drink the water directly without having to boil it first.

Residents greatly appreciate the assistance of the Clean Water Installation built by the Ministry of Social Affairs and consider it a blessing this year for the Ohoinangan Village community.

With the provision of clean water installation assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs in Ohoinangan Village, it is hoped that it will help make it easier for the community to meet their daily clean water needs.
