MAMUJU
(4 February 2020) - The Director General for Poverty Handling (Dirjen PFM),
Andi ZA Dulung, made a working visit to Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi Province.
This visit was in the context of dissemination and at the same time reviewing
the distribution of the first basic food programs in Mamuju.
On this
occasion, the Director General of PFM directly reviewed e-warong, namely
e-Warong Cahaya Bone and e-Warong Kios 58. In these two e-Warong, the Director
General ensured that the funds for the basic food program amounting to IDR
150,000 had been received by beneficiaries family (KPM) through Prosperous
Family Card (KKS) cards. and can be spent at e-warong or Himbara agents that
have been designated by the government.
Previously,
since September 2019 the Mamuju community has received Non-Cash Food Assistance
(BPNT) in the form of rice and eggs. Now with the basic food program that was
rolled out by the government in early 2020, assistance was expanded by adding
to basic necessities such as nuts, vegetables and fruits.
"If last
year it was only eggs and rice, now people are given money in the amount of IDR
150,000 they can buy according to the list, namely rice, eggs, green beans,
chicken, meat," explained the Director General of PFM.
The Director
General further explained that this basic food program can be combined with
other food ingredients according to local wisdom. "It does not have to be
all of them, but permitted items, such as vegetables, fruits and people are
given the freedom to choose, this is the advantage of this program". One
of these foods is a typical Mamuju food called Letto which is made from sago,
sweet potato, or cassava.
With the existence
of the basic food program from the government, it is hoped that the community
will fulfill proper nutrition so as to prevent stunting.
