JAKARTA (November 8, 2024) - Ministry of Social Affairs invited hundreds of high school/vocational high school students in Jakarta to instill heroic values through animated films and dialogues with inspiring speakers at the National Library Auditorium on Friday (11/8).

Present directly to greet the students who were present were Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf and Vice Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono.

Gus Ipul, the nickname Minister of Social Affairs, said that 3 things should be emulated from the attitudes of the heroes in front of the students, namely patience, prioritizing common interests, and thinking about the future.

"Be patient by not directly spreading hoax news, be patient not to bully, be patient (restrain yourself) from using drugs, be patient to be willing to listen to good advice," said Gus Ipul.

Gus Ipul also said to prioritize common interests, collaborate, synergize, and be able to give birth to attitudes for the common good.  "Make the example of a hero a guide for life because those present are leaders in the future," said Gus Ipul as an encouragement to the participants who attended.

In addition to patience and prioritizing the interests of the nation, Gus Ipul also said that an exemplary attitude from a hero is to think about the future.

"Fighting with strong faith, effort, and prayer. Heroes always remember God's commands," he added.

The screening of an animated film about the struggle of a child amid the war that occurred in Surabaya received enthusiasm from students. The film that instills the nature of never giving up on getting valuable achievements became an encouragement for the participants.

Intan from SMA Perguruan Ksatrya said that the film that was screened provided a lesson to never give up and dare to try. "There are no results without hard work to get good results," said Intan.

Heroes are not only those who fought in the past, we all have the opportunity to become heroes by emulating the attitudes of heroes.

From the theme of Emulating Your Heroes, Loving Your Country, students are invited to emulate heroes by loving them studying hard, caring for others, and maintaining the integrity of our nation. We must be proud of the wealth in our country, socially, and culturally.

"Emulating heroes start from keeping schools clean, playing an active role in schools, and helping others," said Meutia Farida Swasono Hatta the chair of Heroes' Day 2024.

Meutia added to dare to act right even though it is not easy. Being in the digital era can be a hero by not spreading fake news or hoaxes.

Finally, the instillation of heroic values was filled with a dialogue with inspiring speakers Alvin Dwi Novemyanto, a scavenger's child who received a Masters scholarship at Gajah Mada University, Yogyakarta, as well as Sandi Saputera and Nuraeni.
