Minister of Social Affairs Will Meet Makassar Bombing Victims and the Heirs of Papuan Shooting Victims

April 2021) - Social Minister Tri Rismaharini is
scheduled to visit the injured victims of the bomb explosion that took place in
front of the Makassar Cathedral Church, which happened last Sunday (28/3), and
will meet the families of the victims who died as a result of the shootings in
Puncak Papua.
"On Tuesday (20/4), the Minister of Social Affairs
will visit 19 people who were injured by the bomb. Three of them are still
being treated at the Bhayangkara Makassar Hospital. The Minister of Social
Affairs will hand over compensation for their injuries," said the
Secretary of the Directorate General of Social Protection and Security,
Ministry of Social Affairs, Robben Rico, in Jakarta, Monday (19/4).
The Minister of Social Affairs is also scheduled to meet
the heirs of the victims who died as a result of the attacks carried out by the
Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Puncak Papua.
"The three heirs will be given compensation so that
hopefully it can ease the burden on the families. The shooting victims in
Puncak Papua are residents from Toraja and Barru, South Sulawesi," said
Robben.
As is known, within two days, Thursday (8/4) and Friday
(9/4), two teachers from Toraja died and were shot by a person whom the police
called KKB. Both were shot in Julukoma, Beoga District, Puncak Regency, Papua
Province.
Meanwhile, a motorcycle taxi driver, named Udin, who is
a resident of Barru Regency, was shot dead by KKB in Eromaga Village, Omukia
District, Puncak Regency, Papua, Wednesday (14/4).
The KKB bomb explosion and shootings were categorized as
social disasters, "Following the Ministry of Social Affairs
Regulation 4 of 2015 on Cash Direct Assistance for Disaster Victims, the
deceased can receive compensation for heirs and compensation for injured
victims", he explained.
During this visit, the Minister will be accompanied by
the Director General of Social Protection and Security, Pepen Nazaruddin, and
the Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Harry Hikmat.
According to the Minister of Social Affairs, he continued, the value of assistance for beneficiary compensation was 15 million rupiahs per person, and for injured victims, a maximum compensation of five million rupiahs.
