JAKARTA (October 15th, 2019) - Director General of Social Rehabilitation, Edi Suharto gave direction at Seminar of Service Program Making about Prevention and Treatment of Drug Abuse Program. The seminar was organized by the Directorate of Social Rehabilitation of Victims of Drug Abuse in collaboration with the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC) at the Hermitage, Jakarta.

"This seminar can help the government involved in overcoming drug abuse in formulating effective, humane and evidence-based prevention, treatment and care services," said Edi Suharto.

Furthermore, Edi Suharto said that the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation implemented the Social Rehabilitation Program 5.0 (Progress 5.0). The point is that the social rehabilitation program has a holistic, systematic and standardized meaning. What is meant by standard is to have the same menu in five clusters.

"What I emphasize in the context of prevention is holistic. Our Social Rehabilitation Program now has a meaning that must be expanded. Rehabilitation center or IPWL that we collaborate with does not have to treat its beneficiaries within the institution, but must emphasize several other programs or what we usually call social care and family support, so it's not just therapy," he said

On this occasion, symbolically submitted the International Standards Book for the Treatment of Drug Abuse Disorders and the International Standards on Drug Use Prevention, Second Updated Edition from UNODC Vienna representative, Anja Bussed to the Director General of Social Rehabilitation.

The seminar participants were representatives of National Narcotics Agency, Ministry of Health, National Development Planning Agency, Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, Institute for Social Rehabilitation of Drug Abuse Victims, Ministry of Home Affairs, Provincial Social Services Agency, Ministry of Law and Human Rights, IKAI, Forsosnapza, APSANI, and the Directorate of RSKP NAPZA.
