JAKARTA (September 12, 2019) - Ministry of Social Affairs gives appreciation for the work of Disaster Preparedness Community (TAGANA) which is always ready to take care of Indonesia. This appreciation is shown in the form of Jambore and Tagana Social Service which will be held in the end of September 2019.

"It is a sort of appreciation given by Ministry of Social Affairs for Tagana's contribution throughout Indonesia dealing with disaster response", said the Director of Social Protection for Natural Disaster Victims of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Rachmat Koesnadi.

In the event of Jambore and Social Service Tagana in  2019, Rachmat continued, we will hold an appreciation to all Tagana who have helped in the case of disaster response in Indonesia. Tagana has taken a great care of Indonesia.

The event mentioned will be held on 25 to 28 September 2019 and will be attended by the Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs involving 1.600 Tagana throughout Indonesia. "It will also be attended by invited guests and delegates from ASEAN," said Rachmat.

Various activities will be carried out to enliven the event, including 'Tagana Menjaga Alam' by planting 160.000 units of trees distributed to the society.

"The 'Tagana Menjaga Alam' will plant trees in Bromo and will recycle plastics-waste," Rachmat added.

There is also an activity called 'Tagana Masuk Sekolah' which will give socialization to students at school to provide debriefing on how to response disaster whenever it occurs.

Meanwhile, the Head of Social Service in East Java Province, Dr. Sukesi said that for making use of plastic-recycling products, the society could also exchange 10 plastic bottles by 3 tree seeds.

The preparation for the event of Jambore and Tagana Social Service in 2019 received a great support coming from the collaborating parties and sponsors involved.
