WEST BANDUNG (October 24, 2020) - The Ministry of Social Affairs through the College of Social Welfare-Polytechnic of Social Welfare (STKS-Poltekesos) Bandung is committed to creating Green Social Workers.

The Director General of Social Protection and Security, Pepen Nazaruddin, explained that Green Social Workers are social workers who work in the field of social welfare by paying attention to environmental issues so that they are able to carry out their social work practices well.

"According to the direction of the Minister of Social Affairs, we are committed to presenting, not only Green Campus, but also Green Social Workers or Social Workers Present for Humanity," said Pepen Nazaruddin, who is also the Chair of the STKS-Poltekesos Alumni Association (IKA) at the opening of the National Work Meeting. Representing the Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P. Batubara, Pepen added that the commitment stems from the Ministry of Social's plan to establish an even better Poltekesos by paying attention to environmental issues.

However, he said, that pride must also be complemented by the Social Worker curriculum. "It is necessary to add a curriculum that is able to capture the survival or Human Behavior Social Environment (HBSE)," said Pepen.

How, he continued, humans are able to play their roles and functions in the social environment to answer this concept.

Since being given the mandate as General Chair of the IKA STKS-Poltekesos in 2019, Pepen has continued to invite the alumni of STKS-Poltekesos to be able to answer social problems in the community.

"STKS-Poltekesos alumni must be able to read the latest issues and catch problems that occur in the community quickly," explained the General Chair of the IKA STKS-Poltekesos for the 2019-2023 period.

He hopes that social problems can be dealt with immediately. "Later on, all of our programs must be grounded, must truly answer the needs of the community, and not burn further than fire," added Pepen.

The National Working Meeting was attended by Middle and Primary High Leaders within the Ministry of Social Affairs, Secretary General of IKA STKS-Poltekesos, DPP IKA STKS-Poltekesos Management, Director of Poltekesos, and Regional Management Boards (DPW) both online and offline.

In front of the Rakernas participants, Pepen said that the purpose of holding the Rakernas was to convey work programs and also to solicit input from STKS-Poltekesos alumni who were present.

"Let's make this National Working Meeting as a space for consolidation for our common interest, how the IKA STKS-Poltekesos is able to handle community problems," said Pepen.

On the sidelines of the National Work Meeting, the General Chairperson of the IKA STKS-Poltekesos, Pepen Nazaruddin, accompanied by the Director of Poltekesos, Marjuki, inaugurated the DPW IKA STKS-Poltekesos for the 2020-2024 period for 5 provinces, namely Banten, DKI Jakarta, West Java, West Sumatra, and Sumatra. North.

In addition, 3 outstanding STKS-Poltekesos students were also given awards. The three are Unggul Yoga Ananta (academic student and founder of the start-up Olah Karsa), Is Khadijah (a postgraduate academic achievement student), and Salsabilla (a national karate champion).
