JAKARTA (December 30, 2020) - Towards the end of 2020, the Ministry of Social Affairs is still trying to improve preparedness to anticipate potential flood natural disasters due to the impact of the La Nina phenomenon in DKI Jakarta Province.
As a form of preparedness, today (30/12), together with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Social Office and Tagana personnel, the Ministry of Social Affairs held a preparedness meeting and handed over a number of logistical assistance for natural disasters in Cipayung, East Jakarta. The assistance was handed over to the Director of Social Protection for Natural Disaster Victims (PSKBA), M. Safii Nasution and received directly by the Head of Social Office of DKI Jakarta Province, Irmansyah.
The assistance was in the form of 30 units of red and white multipurpose family tents, 200 rolls of tents, 3 evacuation boats, 300 packages of family kitchen equipment, 200 packages of kids ware, 1,200 packages of children's food, and 600 packages of ready-to-eat food supplied from the Central Logistics Warehouse. owned by the Ministry of Social Affairs in Bekasi.
While handing over the aid, Safii reiterated that the Ministry of Social Affairs only acts as a supporting system that supports local governments through disaster management facilities and infrastructure. The rest, the local government is responsible for disaster management in its own area.
