JAKARTA (April 2,
2023) – One of the flagship programs of the Ministry of Social Affairs under
the Directorate General of Social Rehabilitation is Social Rehabilitation
Assistance (ATENSI) to reduce social welfare problems. Minister of Social
Affairs Tri Rismaharini continues to encourage the fulfillment of the rights of
marginalized groups.
Through Handayani Center
Jakarta, it is trying to achieve prosperity by distributing ATENSI aid to 201
persons with disabilities in Ranah Minang, West Sumatra Province.
The amount of
assistance that has been distributed to persons with disabilities through
Handayani Center in West Sumatra is IDR 331,676,000.00 for 201
people receiving packages to fulfill a decent living, 22 people receiving
accessibility aids in the form of standard wheelchairs, adaptive wheelchairs,
crutches, tripods, walkers and hearing aids. This also including, two people get
entrepreneurial capital assistance for beverage stalls.
The distribution of
ATENSI aid on the first day, Friday (31/03) carried out in the Official Residence
of Agam Regent was attended by 20 persons with disabilities and their
guardians.
Representing the
Head of Handayani Center, Teni Tresnayanti as a member of the Disability
Working Group expressed her hope that the beneficiaries would become more
empowered. "We hope that the assistance received can benefit persons with
disabilities so that their quality of life can improve," said Teni.
Present at ATENSI
distribution, the Regent of Agam, Andri Warman, and his staff jointly handed
over assistance in the form of accessibility and nutrition aids symbolically to
3 persons with disabilities. "The delivery of this assistance is a form of
attention from the Ministry of Social Affairs to improve the welfare of all of
us," said Andri while handing over adaptive wheelchairs to persons with
physical disabilities.
The distribution on
the second day of Saturday (01/04) was attended by the Mayor of Bukittinggi, Erman
Safar, and his staff, Head of the Social Office, Syanjifaredy Filla Ferde. For about 181 persons with disabilities and their guardians gathered at the Hall
of the Bukittinggi Mayor's Office to receive ATENSI aid in the form of
accessibility aids and support for fulfilling a decent life. There are also two
recipients of assistance for venture capital.
Mayor Erman appreciates the distribution of ATENSI by the Ministry of Social Affairs in Bukittinggi
City. "This assistance is a clear evidence of Social Affairs Minister
Risma's concern for persons with disabilities. Not only that but daily needs are
also considered, such as groceries or nutrition," he said.
