TEMANGGUNG (September 20, 2019) - The Ministry of Social through the Directorate General of Social Empowerment especially the Directorate of Social Empowerment of Individuals, Families and Community Institutions (PPSPKKM) invited 20 companies to visit the Social Rehabilitation Center for People with Intellectual Disabilities (BBRSPDI) "Kartini" in Temanggung.
"The purpose of this visit is to work together through corporate social responsibility, especially in the field of disability," said Lia Latifahningrum as Head of the Sub-Directorate of Business World at the PPSPKKM Directorate.
According to Lia, her party intends to invite private companies to get to know the duties of the Ministry of Social Affairs, particularly in the field of social rehabilitation for persons with disabilities. The benefit, said Lia, is that the company will use the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program to empower persons with disabilities, both in Central Java and throughout Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Murhardjani as the Head of Temanggung's BBRSPDI "Kartini" appreciated a number of companies that had provided support for BBRSPDI "Kartini" Temanggung ".
"Many service recipients who have been channeled from resocialization programs and further guidance do not meet the criteria of working in private companies. The reason is the classification of education required by the company is not in accordance with the qualifications of some persons with intellectual disabilities who are not in school," Muhardjani explained.
In the last 10 years only about 5 percent of the 506 people with intellectual disabilities were absorbed in the business world.
Furthermore, Muhardjani continued, before graduating at BBRSPDI "Kartini", the recipients of the service were given the opportunity to carry out internship in work learning practice (PBK) for one month. As a result, the company received service recipients for work after they joined the CPB.
Murhardjani hoped that the 20 companies that attended the "Kartini" BBRSPDI could provide facilities for PBK locations or give. Other support is in the form of assisting with competency standardization of minimum skills required by the company.
"Even better if the company provides opportunities for cooperation or opening up employment opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities," he said.
The day before, the 20 companies held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) at the Social Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Physical Disabilities (BBRSPDF) "Prof. Dr. Soeharso" Surakarta. The FGD was held to strengthen the potential performance of the business world for persons with intellectual and physical disabilities.
