Ministry of Social Affairs Provides Optimal Services for Victims Affected by the Sukabumi Landslide
The landslide disaster occurred in Cibadak District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java. A total of 12 houses in Cibantuhilir Village, RT 01/11 were buried by landslides on Wednesday (24/1) at 06.30 WIB.
As a result of this disaster, 15 heads of families had to evacuate and 69 houses located around the disaster location were threatened. Following up on this, the Ministry of Social Affairs through the Directorate of Social Protection for Natural Disaster Victims (PSKBA) mobilized Tagana Sukabumi Regency and the Task Force to help affected victims by setting up Evacuee Tents along with Portable Toilets and installing Solar Cells to meet the electricity needs of the evacuees.
Apart from that, to supply the nutritional needs of evacuees in evacuee camps, as well as people who are evacuating independently, the Ministry of Social Affairs is here to establish a Public Kitchen that produces 1200 packages of rice per day which are distributed 3 times in the morning, afternoon and evening. This effort was made by the Ministry of Social Affairs to increase the comfort of refugees so they can rest comfortably.
