CIBINONG (August 5, 2021) – The Ministry of Social Affairs through Social Rehabilitation Center “Ciungwanara” Bogor distributed wheelchair assistance to an elderly person who suffered a stroke in Bogor Regency. Previously, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini directed that Ciungwanara Center respond to a request for wheelchair assistance from “D”, a resident of Cilebut Village, Bogor Regency.

Ciungwanara Center assigns Social Workers to follow up on the Social Minister's directives and coordinate with local Village officials, followed by an assessment of "D". The Social Worker also consults with a medical Rehab Doctor. This assessment and consultation are carried out so that the assistance provided is truly following the conditions and needs of “D”.

The Cilebut Village Secretary expressed his gratitude for the Ministry of Social's quick response to requests for assistance from its residents. Furthermore, the Social Workers of Ciungwanara Center accompanied by the Secretary of Education, the Head of the local RW and RT and Linmas of Cilebut Village handed the wheelchair of the Minister of Social Assistance to "D".

To the "D" family, the Social Worker of Ciungwanara explained how to take care of the sick elderly, such as maintaining health and hygiene by regularly bathing and changing clothes, as well as inviting "D" more often to chat, and occasionally being invited to socialize with the surrounding environment.

Head of Ciungwanara Center, Siti Sari Rumayanti through Social Workers advised that the wheelchair assistance from the Minister of Social Affairs is put to good use.

"I hope that with this wheelchair, Mr. D's mobility will be easier, for example, if you want to seek treatment, many people no longer need to carry or maybe you can use it for sunbathing in the morning," he added.

“D” looks very enthusiastic while trying to sit in a wheelchair. This can be seen when his wife asks to get off the wheelchair, "D" refuses and wants to sit longer in the wheelchair, his face also looks happy.

At the end of the visit, the family expressed their gratitude for the assistance provided. "Hopefully this assistance can be an encouragement for you to be healthier," said wife "D".
