Jayapura (26 August 2024)
- The Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) continues to promote empowerment
programs to enhance people’s well-being. Empowerment has become one of the
solutions offered by the MoSA to encourage the independence of communities,
families, and individuals. This is achieved through a learning process that
encourages participation and enables them to achieve prosperity. Papua Soil is
one of the provinces that receives benefits from MoSA’s empowerment program. The
Papua residents were granted various programs including livestock farming,
fisheries, and agriculture.
In addition to entrepreneurship
assistance, the MoSA also facilitated special training for Papua residents who were affected by social conflict. They were provided training in constructing
knockdown houses, electric trail motorbikes, and solar charging stations. The training served as an integral part of
empowerment programs granted by the MoSA.
The MoSA General Director of
Social Empowerment Mira Riyati, in her statement, explained that 34 units of e-trail motorbikes had been delivered to help beneficiaries’ local ventures. The
vehicles are expected to benefit local people while carrying items or for
community mobilization and contribute positively to the increase of their
income.
“Besides how to assemble and how
to operate Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station, they are also trained on
how to handle and repair the machine if there is a damage or malfunction on the
charging station and EVs,” said Mira (26/8). She added that the training can
foster a sense of belonging for the assistance provided.
