MoSA Strengthens Disaster Mitigation on the South Coast
In the effort to increase community preparedness in facing disasters, the Ministry of Social Affairs on Wednesday morning inaugurated 4 Disaster Preparedness Areas (KSB). Two KSBs are located in Cilacap Regency, they are KSB Kesugihan District and KSB Adipala District. Whereas the other two KSBs are located in Kebumen Regency, they are Buayan District and Ayah District.
Each KSB involved 60 residents who were chosen to be administrators. They were given a briefing for two days regarding disaster materials. As a form of integrated preparedness, the Tagana Entrance School (TMS) program was also carried out. The targeted schools are schools in the area to be formed by the KSB. Tagana personnels come to schools to educate students on how to save themselves when disaster occurs. At least, there are 22 schools in Cilacap and Kebumen that have conducted disaster socialization activities.
In addition to these two districts, the Ministry of Social Affairs is also in the process of forming two KSBs in Pangandaran District. Two KSBs, Kalipucang District and Pangandaran District, are currently undergoing a debriefing. Based on the planning, the inauguration of KSB in Pangandaran Regency will be held on Friday, which will be attended by the Minister of Social Affairs, Juliari P. Batubara.
